3 Ways To Immediately Improve Communication With Your Partner

Communication between you and your partner is one of the most crucial components for maintaining a healthy and prosperous relationship. Without a strong, mutual communication system, a lack of communication can intensify and spread throughout your day-to-day interactions with your loved one—causing more tension, more arguments, and even more perpetual misunderstandings.

Relationships are about being supportive for each other and making sure that each partner’s needs are fulfilled with a strong mutual exchange of communication.

When we lose our ability to openly communicate with our partner, we prevent ourselves from building long-lasting memories. Indeed, allowing ourselves to realize that a relationship requires consistent teamwork and collaboration is one step closer to establishing a communication system that is in the best interest for both of you.

If you and your partner are having trouble clearly communicating in your relationship, try using the Three “T’s” below, which are also further emphasized in our “3 Ways to Communicate with Your Partner” episode:

  1. Time. Plan on a supportive mutual time. Make sure you and your partner have full attention and focused completely on the conversation.

  2. Tip Toe & Keep to the Topic. This is one where we can all relate. I can’t tell you how many times where I deviated from the conversation. Be sure to stay on topic and focus on the core issue at hand.

  3. Touch and Approach with Love. Be sensitive. Be humble. And listen. Have a common goal in mind and always approach and touch it with love. Stay on track and have a conversion.

If you make some of these mistakes, it may put a wedge between you and your loved one and cause the conversation to move away from the topic at hand. Watch our episode in more detail below.
